Candidates
Please check back for 2012 data.
We have added notes where endorsements have not been issued, but gun owners have shown an interest in the race.
**Please keep in mind that we are volunteers, and no statement on this page should be taken as an indication of support from NRA. Until the candidate questionnaires are reviewed by NRA staff and grades are released, we do not know with any certainty how any candidate will rate in 2010 or whether an endorsement will be issued.**

STATE CANDIDATES
Governor
Tom Corbett (R)
Dan Onorato (D)
Lieutenant Governor
Scott Conklin (D)
Jim Cawley (R)
Senate District 4
Leanna Washington (D)
Senate District 6
Tommy Tomlinson (R)
Bryan Allen (D)
With consistent endorsements in the past and no recent votes that would change his record, it is expected that Senator Tommy Tomlinson will keep the support of gun owners.
Senate District 10
Chuck McIlhinney (R)
Cynthia Philo (D)
Senator Chuck McIlhinney has maintained the NRA endorsement before, and we’re not aware of anything from the last session that would change that.
Senate District 12
Stewart Greenleaf (R)
Ruth Damsker (D)
Senator Stewart Greenleaf has enjoyed the benefits of an endorsement before, and we’re not aware of anything from the last cycle that would change that. His opponent has previously endorsed and run for office on a strong gun control platform with gubernatorial candidate Joe Hoeffel before, so it is safe to say that she would be a disaster for lawful gun owners.
Senate District 24
Bob Mensch (R)
Bill Wallace (D)
Senator Bob Mensch has maintained a strong rating and regular endorsements from NRA as recently as his September 2009 election to the upper chamber.
Senate District 44
John Rafferty (R)
With no competition, at this stage in the race, things look good for the previously endorsed incumbent.
House District 18
Gene DiGirolamo (R)
Representative Gene DiGirolamo has always been a friend to gun owners and maintained an endorsement.
House District 29
Bernie O’Neill (R)
Frank Feinberg (D)
House District 31
Rob Ciervo (R)
Steve Santarsiero (D)
While Representative Steve Santarsiero did not have a bad score on his questionnaire, there have been questions raised about promises he may have made to CeasefirePA, the anti-gun organization leading the charge to end preemption across the state. It’s tough to say if NRA will choose to get involved with this race, though we know that candidate Rob Ciervo has reached out to gun owners for his campaign.
House District 53
Bob Godshall (R)
Jack Hansen (D)
With an A+ rating, it would be expected that Representative Bob Godshall should retain the endorsement this year.
House District 61
Kate Harper (R)
Mary Lou Readinger (D)
House District 70
Jay Moyer (R)
Matt Bradford (D)
This is a rematch of 2008, only this time, the political winds favor previous Representative Jay Moyer. Current incumbent Representative Matt Bradford has refused to respond to NRA questionnaires in the past, while Rep. Moyer maintained a B rating and earned the endorsement the last time these two met on the ballot.
House District 140
Jane Burger (R)
John Galloway (D)
House District 141
Kevin Glasson (R)
Tina Davis (D)
In an open seat contest, any involvement would depend upon how the candidates respond to questionnaires sent by NRA.
House District 142
Frank Farry (R)
John Toth (D)
House District 143
Marguerite Quinn (R)
Kathy McQuarrie (D)
House District 144
Katherine Watson (R)
House District 145
Paul Clymer (R)
Mary Whitesell (D)
With an A rating and previous endorsement, it is expected that Representative Paul Clymer would continue to receive support from NRA.
House District 146
Thomas Quigly (R)
Mark Painter (D)
The incumbent has maintained an A rating and previous endorsement, and no recent actions come to mind which would change this status.
House District 147
Marcy Toepel (R)
Robert Dodge (D)
Until candidates respond to questionnaires, NRA’s involvement remains unknown.
House District 148
Matt Maguire (R)
Mike Gerber (D)
House District 151
Todd Stephens (R)
Rick Taylor (D)
House District 152
Thomas Murt (R)
Robert McGuckin (D)
House District 153
Josh Shapiro (D)
Tom Bogar (R)
House District 154
Larry Curry (D)
Tom Bell (R)
House District 169
Dennis O’Brien (R)
As an A rated incumbent, Rep. O’Brien is likely to draw support from gun owners again.
House District 170
Marc Collazzo (R)
Brendan Boyle (D)
The incumbent has refused to answer questionnaires before, but it might be an uphill battle to unseat him. Though this year can hold many surprises.
House District 172
John Perzel (R)
Kevin Boyle (D)
House District 173
Mike McGeehan (D)
House District 174
John Sabatina (D)
House District 175
Louis Schwartz (R)
Michael O’Brien (D)
House District 177
John Taylor (R)
House District 178
Scott Petri (R)
David Apfelbaum (D)
NRA sat out of this district in 2008, and may choose to do so again.
House District 179
Tony Payton (D)
Matthew Franchetti (R)
House District 202
Mark Cohen (D)
House District 203
Dwight Evans (D)
